Protagonist

From Cloud Meadow Wiki

The Protagonist is the main character of Cloud Meadow. The player selects the protagonist's sex at the start of the game. While the canon names for the male and female versions of the protagonist are Evan and Eve, the player is free to change the name to whatever they like.

While tending to the farm, the player is able to recruit companions to join them either by providing protection during treasure hunts in dungeons or working on the farm. Jubelle reminds the player to maintain the farm.

If the player decides to concentrate exclusively on either farming or combat, different NPCs will take on the jobs the protagonist does not. Seiger will deal with combat-related quests and Jubelle will deal with farm-related quests. Each quest will have a time limit, during which the player can choose to deal with the quest themselves or aid Seiger/Jubelle for a better-combined result.

Background[edit | edit source]

Eve/Evan are young adults sent to Cloverton, a town on the edge of frontier under the direction of the Union, to bring the town's local farm into working condition. Being part of Union they have full jurisdiction to either venture into the untamed frontier for resources or cultivate the land.

Eve/Evan have been orphaned since their youth, so the majority of their morals have been acquired from books, hence their personality is very flexible. During the dialogue, the player is given a variety of responses to choose from, ranging from energetic/cynical/passive/etc. This allows the player to influence Eve/Evan's personality to match their preferences.

Eve/Evan carries an important keepsake from their parents-- a chamomile flower. They treasure it greatly, as it is the last fleeting memory of their deceased parents.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Book-smart and curious, the protagonists are willing to undertake any sort of task from random NPCs to learn more about the world and the characters, displaying curiosity whenever a new element of the story is introduced to them. Generally, when encountering something new, they will reference books, or the lack of documentation, on the subject.

Likes: chamomile flower tea, gardening, shopping, fresh scent of produce on Saturday morning farmer's market, new places, ancient ruins.

Dislikes: debt

Abilities[edit | edit source]
